Information on the Processing of Personal Data

The personal data contained in an application of the Customer to ZB IKE, as well as any data that ZB IKE may have already lawfully collected or will collect from publicly accessible sources and/or records, and the data that will arise from the operation of any contract that may be signed.

The purpose of the processing is the assessment of the application and the examination of the Customer’s creditworthiness, where required; the performance and operation of the relevant contract and the monitoring of it and of the resulting details, in the context of which a re-assessment of risk may also be required where deemed necessary; the defence of ZB IKE’s rights and the security and protection of transactions in general; and the fulfilment of ZB IKE’s obligations under the law, regulatory acts and decisions of authorities or courts.

Recipients of the above data may be:

1. Entities to which ZB IKE assigns the performance of specific actions on its behalf (processors), such as, among others, lawyers, bailiffs and/or notaries, experts, surveyors, natural or legal persons, and IT application maintenance service providers, always subject to the observance of confidentiality.

2. Credit and financial institutions of the European Economic Area, which are licensed and operate lawfully, and/or special-purpose companies or entities within the meaning of Law 3156/2003 on the securitisation of receivables, as in force.

3. The Bank of Greece, bodies or authorities of the European System of Central Banks (Eurosystem), as well as supervisory, independent, public or other authorities, bodies or services within the scope of their statutory activities.

4. Public bodies and/or judicial officers, in the context of their lawful duties, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the law in force from time to time.

The data under section A above will be kept, for ZB IKE, for a period of 5 years from the termination of the contract in any manner. If no contract is concluded, the data will be kept by ZB IKE for 5 years. After the above periods have elapsed, the personal data will be destroyed. Documents bearing the signature(s) of the parties, in which personal data is recorded, are also kept in electronic form for a period of 5 years.

In the event of the commencement of judicial proceedings of any kind, directly or indirectly concerning the signatory hereof, the above retention period of the Customer’s data shall be suspended for their entire duration and until an irrevocable court decision is issued, whereupon it shall continue until the completion of the limitation period interrupted for the above reason.

1. The Customer has the right to know which personal data concerning them is or has been processed (right of access), to raise objections at any time and to object to the processing of data concerning them, to request the erasure of their data, and to transmit their data to another controller without objection from ZB IKE, or to request that ZB IKE transmit it directly to another controller. To exercise the above rights, the Customer may apply in writing to the Deposits and Loans Fund.

2. The exercise of the rights of objection regarding the processing of the personal data under section A above concerns exclusively the correction and/or updating thereof, so that it is complete and accurate. Any objection to their further processing otherwise necessarily entails the termination of the relevant contract.

3. ZB IKE is entitled to refuse a request for the erasure of the Customer’s data if the retention of the data is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of its legal rights and claims, or for compliance with its obligations under the Law.

ZB IKE is obliged, in accordance with the institutional framework in force from time to time, to take every reasonable measure to ensure the confidentiality and security of the processing of the data and its protection from accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, prohibited dissemination or access, and any other form of unlawful processing.
